Julius Caesar Act III Review

Act III is the climax of our play. Please summarize this act from the conspirators killing Caesar to Antony's speech in front of the citizens. Also, where there any flaws in the conspirators plan to kill Caesar? Explain.

  1. The act starts with Caesar arriving at the Senate house and talks to the soothsayer saying the ides of march have not come. Then the soothsayer responds saying that the ides of march have not left. After the conversation Caesar enters the senate building and murdered with 33 stabs starting with Casca and ending with Brutus. Before Brutus delivered the last blow though Caesar with his dying breath said "Et tu, Brute?" which means "And you, Brutus?" and then dies. during the commotion Antony flees and heads home. When he gets there he sends a servant to see if it is ok to go back and ask why they killed Caesar. Everyone wanted to kill Antony but Brutus said not to because it would be to violent. When Antony got there he asked if he could speak at Caesar's funeral. Brutus agreed because he respected Antony. Brutus gave his speech first and got everyone on his side and the Antony gave his speech and got everyone to turn on the conspirators. After that the citizens burnt down all the houses of the conspirators and mistakenly killed Cinna the Poet instead of Cinna the conspirator. And thats a summary of Act 3. And yes there was one flaw in the plan to kill Caesar. That flaw was letting caesars close and most trustworthy advisors live. If they killed Antony they would not have had the citizens turn on the conspirators and ruin everything. Isaac Gutierrez
